Jen founded Yellow Dog Pilates fifteen years ago, and has taught Pilates throughout the country. Jen currently resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl, and offers in-home, private Pilates training. Prior to moving to Florida, Jen lived in Lake Tahoe, CA, where she founded PeloDog Pilates & Indoor Cycling, in Lake Tahoe, CA, a state-of-the-art Pilates and indoor cycling studio, dedicated to offering strength-building, calorie-burning and fun workouts in a space that welcoming and non-intimidating to every body that joins us.
Jen discovered Pilates while living in New York City in 2001, and has maintained a dedicated practice ever since. Like many, Jen was seeking a fitness regime to tone up and de-stress, and over the years Jen has been continuously astonished by the benefits of her Pilates practice, as it has helped her achieve numerous podium finishes at races, prevent and recover from injuries and simply feel great.
After years working as a full-time attorney, Jen decided to make Pilates more than a hobby. She completed BASI's comprehensive teacher training course, and opened Yellow Dog Pilates, her first studio in Marin County, CA. Choosing to pursue her love for all things mountains, she moved to the Vail Valley where she worked as a Master and Lead Instructor at various studios and fitness centers before opening Vail Pilates, and then PeloDog.
Jen is nationally known as an expert in both fitness and rehab modalities of Pilates, and is highly experienced in working with clients rehabbing injuries and coping with a wide variety of spinal and other conditions. Jen works with a wide range of clientele ranging from 9 to 90, and from athletes seeking a competitive edge to seniors coping with low bone density. She has even trained the President and First Lady. She has completed numerous advanced trainings, including Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies, Enhancing Athletic Performance, Unwinding Scoliosis, Scapulohumerol Rhythm, Rotator Cuff, Shoulder Impingement and Pilates, and Tracey Mallet's Booty Barre.
Jen is a golfer, cyclist, skier and swimmer. She has has over a decade of classical ballet, modern dance and tap training, and was a competitive gymnast. Her movement background enables her to relate to a diverse clientele, and provide a highly personalized and effective program to many. Having torn her own ACL, MCL and meniscus and undergone knee reconstruction surgery, Jen understands first-hand the benefits of Pilates in returning to life and sport after injury.
